Welcome!

I'm Lizbeth Kim - a long-time Bay Area resident (currently based in San Mateo), Cal alum (go Bears 🐻), and the photographer behind the lens here.
My photography journey started in college when I bought my first DSLR and spent weekends shooting landscapes across the Bay with friends. From chasing golden hour light around our local hills to capturing breathtaking sights during my travels, I learned that the environment around a person is part of their story. Over time, my eye shifted from wide open landscapes to the people within them, and I fell in love with cinematic, intimately lit portraits.
Some fun facts about me:
- I spent years as a dancer and choreographer in the Bay Area, and that instinct informs the way I compose, shoot, and edit. I see every frame through the lens of geometry and body language, and love finding the moments of energy that live in your natural movements
- I hold a doctorate in social psychology, which, it turns out, is pretty handy for making people feel at ease in front of a camera!
- When I'm not shooting, you'll find me with a boba or matcha in hand, going on a hike with my partner and dog, or curled up at home with my cat in front of a good Kdrama
My colleagues and friends often tell me that I bring a calming, warm energy, and honestly, that means more to me than any technical compliment. I want your shoot to feel low-pressure and genuinely fun. If that sounds like your vibe, I'd love to connect!
